在工作之余，我喜欢的活动包括：读书（以历史、政治、社会、医学科普为主），观看纪录片与京剧，打羽毛球或无器械健身。参观博物馆和人文景观也是我的爱好，如果时间宽裕且有灵感，我会创作一些诗词和对联，目前正在陆续将部分中文版的诗词翻译成英文，并按英文发音保持韵律。
When I am not working, I am interested in reading (particularly history, politics, sociology, and popular medical science), watching documentaries and Peking Opera, and playing badminton or doing equipment-free fitness training. Visiting museums and cultural landscapes is also my hobby. If I have enough time and inspiration, I will create some poems and antithetical couplets. I am currently translating some of my Chinese-language poems into English and ensure the rhyming scheme to the best of my ability.

玉兰飞落舞翩跹。
亭中倚坐传私语，

Plum blossom of all colors competed to show off their beauty;
Falling Yulan magnolia petals danced with the wind trippingly.
Whispering in the pavilion as you leaned against my shoulder,
I saw that your glamorous face made the flower look brighter.
暖水柔波拍岸石，
春风拂面似青丝。
红桃朵朵惊蛰日，
绿柳依依恋侣时。

夜雨荡轻尘，
同游赏胜春。
紫霞余照好，

Early at dawn, we rise and dress up anew,
And devoutly pray for a dream-come-true.
Enjoying delicacies as family members unite,
And for celebration, we stay up till midnight.
Fancy music echoes when firecrackers roar,
Dances welcome auspiciousness to the door.
New spring comes with the Rabbit of wealth,
Let us all stay fit and keep in good health.
琼华尽落笼潇湘，
江水轻凝路渺茫。
窗外银砂妆断木，
榻头红果暖书房。
寒风半卷心无惧，
温荈三杯气正昂。
瑞雪南来应有意，
丰年助我做文章。
Flying snowflakes make the world blear,
The river gets frozen, and roads disappear.
Silver frost decorates trees that are sere,
Red flowers indoors warm the atmosphere.
The bitter wind blows but causes no fear,
Sipping hot tea, I just take it as a cheer.
Auspicious snow signals harvest next year,
Helping me write essays, so it comes here.
携囊负箧挂晨星，
谢友辞师远帝京。
廿载寒窗昨日毕，
一腔热血此时兴。
他乡北渡书山住，
故土南归笔海行。
修业功成何处去，
杏坛得就赴江宁。
Packed up and fully loaded in the early morning,
I said farewell to teachers, friends, and Beijing.
With twenty years of student life concluding,
my aspiration for a professional future is now rising.
Recalling the days I spent on my degree pursuing,
day in and day out, I continued reading and writing.
If you ask me about my destination after graduating,
As a university teacher, I reply, I am heading to Nanjing.
残阳半落近黄昏，
无雨清明更断魂。
忍泪追思怀外祖，
含悲遥拜祭新坟。
The dusk approaches with the half dome sunset;
A rainless Mourning Day gets me in a bigger fret.
In memory of grandpa, I hold tears in the eyes;
Offering condolence from afar, I swallow my sighs.
侵晨飞雪绽梨花，
入夜积霖笼素纱。
半倚榻头读旧卷，
时临窗侧品新茶。
The sky looks veiled by a pear blossoms show.
It is because of night rains and morning snow.
Revisiting old books, I half-lay against the pillow,
and occasionally I sip the new tea by the window.
跨年夜独处校内寓所撰博士论文。校园封闭，人烟稀少，且时少而任重，故感重压与愁思。与旧友隔空长谈贺年之余抒怀，后作诗以记之。
神州夜幕满星罗，
挚友传书话几多。
望断天涯评旧事，
梦回海角论新说。
独身踽踽怀西蜀，
孤影茕茕处北国。
月撒寒光人不寐，
离愁何必问烟波。
On the New Year’s Eve of 2022, I stayed alone in my dorm on campus under lockdown, busy writing my doctoral dissertation. The campus was almost empty, the deadline was fast approaching, and the workload was heavy. So, I felt lonely and pressurized. I had a long chat with an old friend for both new year celebration and relief, and I later wrote the poem recording this chat.
Filling the evening sky is the starlight bright；
A long chat with an old friend lasts till night.
Sharing old stories despite we now live apart;
Done reminiscing, our new conversations start.
I recall the days in Sichuan and my loneliness,
And this stay in Beijing is causing homesickness.
Insomnia worsens as the cold moon glistens;
Without question, the parting sorrow deepens.
丁酉年戊申月丙寅日（西元二零一七年八月七日），暑气甚重，睡意全无，驱车至龙母河畔，夜读史书有感。
夜分乏睡意，
河坝捧汗青。
远岸无灯火，
身前有碧茗。
风声秋木动，
鹤唳鬼神惊。
旧世车辙在，
今朝莫复倾。
In the late evening of Aug. 7th, 2017, I drove to the Longmu river to read history book because of insomnia. I reflected on the reading with a poem.
Late evening comes yet insomnia suddenly strikes,
So, I read some books sitting by the river dikes.
The riverbank afar submerges in the gloomy night;
Still, I have a cup of fragrant green tea just in sight.
Early autumn woods shake as blowing winds sigh;
Awakening ghosts when cranes occasionally cry.
To prevent failure, learning from history will suffice,
So, faulty paths should never be attempted twice.
丁酉年丙午月癸未日（西元二零一七年六月二十五日），朝得学位，暮别同窗，甚为感怀。
学子气轩昂，共聚华堂，功成皆作翰林郎。
礼帽盛装今俱备，志向圭璋。
往事绕心肠，四载同窗，別时泪眼映斜阳。
暮近语噎人散去，慢起行囊。
In the morning of June 25th, 2017, I obtained my bachelor degree and waved goodbye to my schoolmates in the evening. As a result, I was filled with all kinds of emotions.
Gathered are we,
soon graduates to be,
awarded with a bachelor’s degree.
Putting on the academic dress,
we all aspire to a future of success.
Parting is bitter,
after four years together,
tears at dusk make farewell a suffer.
Silently stand until nobody is nearby,
I slowly pack up and wave goodbye.
灌县江涛东逝去，
古堤分水势磅礴。
安澜桥险平心度，
秦堰楼高稳步踱。
玉垒关前听素浪，
宝瓶口畔望烟波。
二王功绩今何在？
沃野川中自论说。
Eastbound roaring are three rivers through the Guan County;
Diverting their flows is the Dujiang Dam that stands firmly.
I walk across at ease, although the Anlan Bridge is shaky;
However tall the Qinyan Tower, I keep my every step steady.
In front of the Yulei Gate, I hear waves patting banks gently,
And watch mist and ripples forming at the Baoping Valley.
So now, what remains the two Dam-building sages' legacy?
Making fields fertile, their Dam created the Land of Plenty.
昭烈雄图万古流，
武侯功绩载千秋。
三英合义平荆蜀，
八阵扬威保季刘。
沃野锦城工部住，
崔嵬险隘太白游。
隆中对策传今世，
未尽出师哪日酬。
Emperor Liu Bei’s ambition to restore Han went down in history;
His Premier Zhuge Liang’s merits had become an eternal story.
The emperor’s brotherhood with the generals secured his victory;
When loosing, the Premier used the stone fortress as a rescuing remedy.
Poet-sages Li Bai and Du Fu praised his territory for being heavenly;
Stunned by fertile lands and steep cliffs, they wrote superb poetry.
To this day, we still discuss and praise the Premier’s grand strategy,
Wondering when someone could continue his unfulfilled legacy.
望江楼上望江流，
江水悠悠绕锦州。
唐女校书诗尚在，
竹园凭吊伴湖鸥。
Watching the river flows at the Watch-River-Tower,
I see the city surrounded by the smoothly flowing river.
Upon reading poems by Ms. Xue, China’s first female teacher,
I commemorate her in a bamboo garden as lake gulls fly over.
丁酉年三月十三日（西元二零一七年四月九日生日），得侨居南洋旧友之信，甚喜，乃赋诗以记
雨歇云淡散山岚，
花落缤纷满锦官。
试问人因何事喜，
久期鸿雁故知传。
On Apr. 9th 2017, my birthday, I received a postcard from an old friend residing in Singapore. I was overjoyed and compose a poem to document the event.
Gone are clouds and mists when the rain dies down;
Fallen petals has been carpeting the entire Silk Town.
If you ask me what gives me such enormous pleasure,
From an old friend, I say, I receive a long-awaited letter.
